Flue gas desulfurization facility at TPP Nikola Tesla A
PROJECT: FLUE GAS DESULFURIZATION FACILITY AT TPP NIKOLA TESLA A
LOCATION: OBRENOVAC, CL 1934, CM UROVCI
INVESTOR: JAVNO PREDUZEĆE „ELEKTROPRIVREDA SRBIJE“
YEAR: 2019 – 2022
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Technology for wet flue gas desulphurization, using limestone as sorbent, will be applied in units A3, A4, A5 and A6. By-product will be gypsum that may be used in construction.
Wet flue gas desulphurization technology generally comprises of the following technological operations:
After the electrostatic precipitator booster fan leads flue gases to absorber
For the desulphurization process, pump supplies the absorber with water, then with fine-grained lime suspension prepared in wet grinding ball mill and necessary quantity of air supplying the oxygen required for the reaction.
The reaction between lime, water, oxygen and SO2 from flue gases creates gypsum (CaSO4x2H2O) and CO2, while gypsum from the absorber is taken to thickening and filtration process or to thickening followed by depositing with ash from TENT A
Clean flue gas is released from the absorber to the environment by wet flue
- Diesel power generators for electric power
- Thermal processing devices 45 – 165 KW
